This may of interest to a few of you who have been on this list a long time.

Two years ago I sold my beloved Helmut, a 1986 Westy which I had restored and highly modified with cabin heat, hot water, etc. See http://www.tiu.net/~des/vw/garth/ (not my page).

I missed it the minute it was gone. Oh well. But after two years of seller's remorse, I decided to try to get "him" back.

I was able to find the fellow I sold it to, and, he was thinking of selling it. We made a deal ($1,000 less than I sold it to him for). He had taken excellent care of it, driven it less than 4,000 miles, and even improved it. What luck! How many times have people sold a vehicle and bought the same one back two years later? These vans really do have personalities!
