Once again, my deep gratitude for the almost 20 responses to remove the unwanted grey paint from the Tug's moroon skin. I'll bet many of the suggestions would've worked, but dry baking soda on my wet towel seemed to do the job with no ill effect (lots of summer wax likely helped control damage). Toothpaste, paint thinner & WD-40 (immediately washed after careful applications) didn't touch it, but 3-Ms Finesse, cleaning wax, scratch remover, rubbing polish/compound were all on my list. Oh where would I be without our List?!! Thanks again to everyone's concern! -Pat vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM, inua@HIWAAY.NET. CTONLINE@webtv.net, hanran@earthlink.net |
