I installed a new upper Speedo cable today in effort to fix nonworking Speedo and odometer (top clip on previous cable broken). Got new cable in (obviously a PO had put a new cable in as old one had non-German wire ties holding it to a/c hose) without too much difficulty and checked it before connecting lower end. Speedo moved. Hooked up lower end, and tested van. No movement. I went back under van and found that lower Speedo cable was not firmly attached to back of wheel housing. Pulled it out. Wheel end was sheared off. What do I do now besides order a new lower cable from one of list vendors? Is it possible that gears in box that connects the two Speedo cables are bad?
