I wonder if an aux coolant pump would help the general cooling of the engine, or
would some sort of aux radiator with fan help.

I know that when you are creeping along in heavy traffic on a hot day, the fans
on the radiator keep turning on and off with high frequency. Turning on the
heater fans always helps the engine cooling,  but of course it doesn't help the
interior cooling by the air conditioner.

Just thoughts.
