Subject: Changing from steel wheels to alloys
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hi List,

I have a '87 Syncro Westy that came with steel wheels. I bought some used alloy wheels off a Non-Syncro Westy. The alloys came with 10 acorn style lug nuts and 10 lug bolts? My Syncro has studs at all 4 corners. The ones in the rear look a little short and the ones in the front look just barely long enough, about 9 full rotations of the lug nuts vs about 6 on the rear. My question is what is the proper configuration for the changing from steel wheels on a Syncro to alloys from a Non-Syncro? Do I replace all studs to longer ones and buy another 10 acorn style lug nuts? Or do I pull all the studs and buy 10 more lug bolts? Or? Thanks in advance.

Tim '87 Syncro Westy
