Subject:      Break fluid leak

I am still trying to locate a break fluid leak under the dash of my 84
Vanagon.  I have replaced the clutch master cylinder.  Today I removed the
dash instrument cluster to fully expose the break master cylinder.  I
pumped the clutch pedal until the fluid in the reservoir went from Max to
Min and could not see a leak. I also pressed the break pedal many times,
and never lost pedal pressure or spotted a leak.   I find fluid on the
floor mat so I'm sure the leak is under the dash somewhere.  I have not
inspected the slave cylinder for leaks.  I'm buying so much break fluid to
keep the reservoir full enough to drive my van that the guy at the auto
store thinks I work on breaks for a living.  Any thoughts please?  Thanks
