Leif,
  If this was pointed at my post, I mis-informed you (and everyone else,
sorry).  I went to NJDMV Inspection station, failed miserably for emissions,
I tried to fix it, went to a local who jammed me for $65.00 (and didn't fix
it), my parts guy... then (last ditch effort) my Dealer (Trend Motors).
They fixed it (and a coolant leak I didn't know about for $75.00), I went
back to NJDMV Inspection station and passed.  I was happy (and am friendly
to our environment).
