Subject: afm adjustments

Does any one have the best method to adjust the co mixture for a 2.0 litre air cooled. I notice by adjusting counter clock wise i actually increased power (accelleration) i could actually keep up with traffic and the engine felt much smoother going through the different speed ranges. Initially it was adjusted completely clockwise. A friend of my has one complete turn on his afm...i had something around the 3 to 3 1/2 turns counter clock wise. Is there a recommended setting?
