I was never happy with the hydraulic lifters. I replaced mine with regular lifters and was happy ever after.

Trying to determine the best adjustment for my 2.0 liter. Reading some articles on the type 2 site...one person says you should install the hydrualic lfters with the small hole up...does this matter I thought they tend to spin and move around so will it make a different. I tend to believe that my lifters adjustments are to tight. I adjusted each cylinder to TDC then adjusted each valve 1 and 1/2 turns in. But looking at my adjusting screw it appears to be at its end of travel...one to two threads showing. lifters are pumped up and not sponge. Can I get away with one turn. Andy Wild Wild West 82
