To Westy or not to Westy, that is the question! Should be an easy choice, but just to give you more to think about you might consider converting the '90 to a Westy with the parts from the '82 and parting out the remains. Your good engine, rust free doors, etc. should fetch some decent pocket change, maybe even close to what you could sell the complete van for.

That, in my somewhat biased opinion would give you the best of both! > > -----Original Message----- > From: Jason Willenbrock [mailto:pooncerelli@HOTMAIL.COM] > Sent: Monday, January 31, 2000 4:41 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: dilema > > howdy volks, > I find myself in a dilly of a pickle and need your advice. i currently own > two vanagons and need desperately to sell one. however, i don't know which > to sell, i love them both so much! the first is a 90 vanagon gl (non > westy). it currently has 178,000 on original engine that compresses over > 125 all around. almost everything has been replaced except for engine and > tranny which are in great shape. paint is good and no rust at all. the > second is an 82 aircooled westy california emissions. it has a rebuilt with > about forty thousand. there is a tiny bit of rust for an 18 year old car, > but she looks real good. all camping equipment works fine. she needs a > little bit of mechanical attention but nothing a few weekends getting greasy > won't fix. they both have their pluses and minuses (mostly pluses). what > do i do, i have no choice but sell one of them. any ideas?? > confused and sad > jason > ______________________________________________________ > Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
