I had to play with the positioning of the tire to get it to fit. Another trick is to find a longer bolt that holds the spare carrier plate to the undercaridge and then add some washers to the bolt. This allows the tire carrier to hang down slightly more thereby increasing the space for the big tire. Hope this helps. Rick Koller '90 syncro westie '91 carat '91 gl
