Robie, Priming is not usually necessary. The lines probably are blocked by dried windshield wiper fluid residue. First, try to free by using pins or needles in the orifices of the spritzers at the windshield. Blow through with your lips, too. If "no go," then disconnect the ground of the battery for safety. Under the left front, driver's side) fore of the wheel, there are three bolts holding the tank to the frame. Loosen those bolts, hold the tank, and you can separate the motor from the tank and check, open and irrigate, as necessary, to loosen the blockage. Be careful of breakage. The tank is probably dried out and the bolts may shatter the plastic upon an attempt to reseat. I used stainless steel washers and strips of stainless steel to augment the bolts holding on the broken edges of the tank.
