In my experience the transistorised regulators of the last decade generally put out just a shade under 14v -- 13.95 or so. Toyotas and Subarus and Vanagons seem pretty similar in this regard. That's looking at a system where the battery is pretty much charged, and temps around 68/20 degrees or somewhat higher. Now my old Sunbeam put out close to 15. Had to fill the battery more often, too.
