Early Vangons used the same hubcaps as (ball joint front end) air-cooled beetles. My Mom's boyfriend trashed one of the stock plastic hubcaps on my 1990 Vanagon, so I replaced them with stock chrome bug hubcaps. IMHO they look much better. If you can't find used bug hubcaps, JC Whitney sells a set of four chrome plated steel "Custom-Fit Baby-Moon-Style Hub Caps" part number 81VH4945U for $29.95. http://www.jcwhitney.com They are advertised as replacements for 68-73 Beetle; 71-80 Type II Bus, Transporter, VANAGON; 66-73 Type III Fastback, Squareback; Type IV 411, 412. Set of 4. They don't have the stock VW emblem on them, but it's a set of four so at least they'll all match.

Says so. Right there in the Toyota service manual. > > Ron Bloomquist > (I drive a Vanagon with content ;-)
