From all the previous list traffic on this I guess I'm real lucky. I had been talking with the parts guy at the dealer after I saw them get in the new CD-ROM system and asked what they were going to do with the old microfiche. He said that they would be keeping one for a backup but would ask the parts manager about the other unit they had in the back. I patiently waited and checked back... to make a long story short I have a fiche machine and the fiches for my following cars: the '88-'92 vanagon fiche for my '88 wolfsburg and '90 westy, the '80-'91 Campmobile (Westy) fiche for the camper stuff, and for the day when I have a Syncroor other Westy the '86-'92 syncro fiche, Also for my '60 convertible the 2 fiches 1200/1300 & 1302/1303. The dealers can be most helpful and yes I realize that sometimes the part prices can be a bit much. However, it is reassurring to know that the parts can be had and arrive quickly if the salvage yard isn't an option. The parts manager also was kind enough to make other fiches available in the future should I buy a different model. As you can see from the list below I assured the dealer that my interest was from the love of the vehicle and not for resale or profit. So I guess I'm the owner of a national treasure.....
