You didn't say whether your pinstripes are paint or tape.  Take a close look
(maybe with magnifying glass) and/or check with a sharp fingernail.  The
tape has a thickness which you can feel.  If your stripes are tape, you may
be able to remove them rather quickly using a heat gun.  Be aware with tape
stripes -- sometimes in the event of repair/repainting, they mask along one
side of the pinstripe, so it becomes the line across which they stop
painting.  Then you've got another situation.  I'd recommend checking with
your friendly local autobody guy.  (Acronym FLAG??)
