The relay for my Ebenspacher (sp?) DA-5 Diesel aux. heater is above the glove
box.  You might find yours there too.  Good luck.  Mine is also dead right
now.  I plan on tering into it this summer when the weather warms up a bit.
Pretty much the same symptoms.  Someone told me that the "coil" may be bad.
From what i understand they are similar to ignition coils and can still be
gotten from the VW dealer for about $40-$50.
