Just put a new CAT (last week) and a new Oxy sensor(2months ago) on my 87
Wolfsburg. I have been running the van the past few months with the Oxy
sensor DISconnected, because I noticed that when it was connected my engine
would hesitate and take off VERY SLOWLY unless I was punching the pedal and
gettin my RPM's over 2000. My mechanic said it was either my CAT or Oxy
sensor. Well changed both and still have a VERY BAD hesiations. It will go
up to like 1500 RPM's as I leave a light or stop sign and just drop to idle
speed RPM's or sometimes (not often, only a couple times) even stall. Now to
aviod the problem I can dissconnect the Oxy sensor wich makes the van alot
quicker and smoother accelerations, but lowers my gas milage. Or if I leave
it on I have to make sure I punch the gas everytime I take off to keep my
RPM's up over 2000. Making a pain to turn and not have things in teh back go
all over, and just to take off without shifting the weight of the hole
vehicle. If someone has had this porblem b4 or knows of a fix for it please
let me know. I do not want to just start changing sensors and parts w/out
some idea of why this is happening.
Thanks
Tim
