I recently purchased an 81 Westy that had aftermarket oil coolers on it. They are tied in with a little deal between the oil filter and the oil filter base or bracket, so I assume it cools the oil all the time. Is there such a thing as an inline thermostat and can the oil be too cool? Which way does the oil flow into the filter, through the center and out the side or vise versa. The little driving I have done shows 180-200 deg on the oil temp gauge that was installed at the same time. Any comments? Myron Lind Harrisonburg, VA |
