For high mileage, not off road tread, 14" LT (light truck, reinforced sidewall) tires I recently bought some YOKOHAMA Y370 LT195/70/14. I bought these because: a) they were cheaper than the MICHELIN LTX by 20% b) they are the only ones I could find with a D (1300lbs i think) load range and an 8ply side wall (THE LTX is C load range 6 ply) I had LTX previously and although they look nicer I can't notice a difference in performance. As far as I can tell the most important think is that you get an LT tire and not a P tire, ex P195/75/14. I think the P type means passenger and does not have reinforced sidewall. I used to have P195/70/14 in the front and they were crap, the LT tires feel way more stable and safe. At least thats how it works in canada. happy tire shopping, ANdys On Thu, 10 Feb 2000, Jason Gorfine wrote: > what's the best tire to put on my stock 14" wheels? i know there's been a > lot of discussion, but that's left me a bit confused, what with the > different wheel sizes and all. > i'd check the archives, but i'm on my lunch break and i don't think i'd have > enough time. > thanks again > jason > |
