What are you driving. Vanagon or Westy?

In either case you don't want a car tire on there. You want a tire with a stiff sidewall.

Last fall I got rid of the automible tires on my "88GL and replaced them with Michelin MLT 205R14's. I think the new Michelin Agilis tire would be a good one. But make certain you have a tire with a strong straight sidewall....something that truck tires have but most automobile tires don't. And you want at least 6 plys in the tire, with it wrapped up the sidewall for extra strength.

Good luck.
