Since I have gotten mixed responses from my earlier question so I guess it's a matter of personal preference. >> Just wanted to relate my recent experiences. I have dealt with quite a few online transactions lately Mostly through eBay. I must say I have had no problem with anyone yet. One transaction was w/ listee Mark Upton. eBay transaction which required prepay. I sent the payment. I got the part. Another transaction was w/ listee Bob Kelley. I got the part for him from another party. I was away for the day and left the part on my front yard while he sent his guy to pick it up. When I came home, the part was picked-up and the cash was in my mailbox. Both times I trusted the parties more because they are list members than anything else. The secondary reason is more relative. If I can afford the loss, I take the risk. Hasn't failed me yet. BenT San Francisco Ps: C.O.D. cost the Vendor money to insure against your performance. Prepaying by any means places all the risk on the Buyer. As the vendor, which option would you take? It doesn't take much to see why someone would refuse to send C.O.D. I doubt that it's the paperwork. |
