Subject: brakes
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

hey ya'll question about my brakes in my 82 westy. why do i have to pump the brakes several times in order to get any brake power? i am leaking a lot of fluid which i believe to be coming from either the clutch master cylinder or the line that feeds the cmc. the pads are in good shape however the drums may need adjusting b/c i need to pull up the ebrake lever really high to get it to catch fully. also, could there be air in the lines as a result of the leak? how can you tell if the booster is shot. as per bentley they say to pump up brakes then turn the key and pedal should move. mine does move, however, very slightly. i am going to replace this line that feeds the cmc and cmc itself, any perils of wisdom? the biggest concern here, though, is the about the having to pump up brakes in order to get good braking power- not too fun with mountain driving! thanks jason 82 westy 90 gl ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
