Subject: Camshaft Bearings

Hi,

I got to speak to the mechanic that has done all the work on my 84 Westy for the last 6 years. (4 speed) and he suggests I put new camshaft bearings in. He says they're just making a tiny bit if noise, not bad "yet". But should be done within the next 2000 mi. I know I can get hubby to do the work just wondered about how long it a job it is, and if anything else should be done while he's at it? Any special tricks i should pass on to him? Please don't tell me he's going to have to pull the whole engine!! I have this sinking feeling I'm going to be out in the barn with him. (you know, the gopher) Go fer this wrench, go fer that socket, I'm hungry, gofer some lunch, gofer another cup of coffee, etc., etc..
