Insulation is the key. Try climbing up and feel the pop top with your heater running. It's warm! (How come I found this out?... Don't wveryone wax their pop top in the winter?) That's where your heat is going.

A 4x8' .5 or 1" sheet of extruded polystyrene (Dow corning) or icocyanate (Tuff-R) fits inside the pop top. Just make cut-outs for the pull down handle and hinges.

If you use this, be sure to vent out moisture between it and the roof after every trip. Minimize moisture added to the air (Don't breathe! ;-)

I found that the living part of my Westy is already insulated with fiberglass. Second to the pop top the windows are probably the largest heat leak, then floor.
