I've been looking all over as well with no luck. I was going to refinish the
wood and leave it exposed, but  I have decided to try commercial width
wallpaper (54" wide - big enough to cover biggest panels in one piece).
there are very plain patterns available - quite similar to the original -
and the stuff is vinyl (original might be plastic). I don't know how the
dimensional stability (in response to temp changes) compares with the
plastic already there - I've been told that wallpaper is not ok for cars,
but my guess is that the commercial stuff would be more durable than the
original. My main concern is temperature changes interacting with the curve
on the roof panel over the driver. The 3M trim adhesive might make things
work ok vis temperature.

I really don't see any alternatives, but I did notice that the material used
for roll down window shades (check home depot) is wide enough and a similar
material that is more comparable in thickness to the original than vinyl
wallpaper. It might look a bit chhesy though (but maybe not as bad as half
peeled panels)


note - the commercial wallpaper can be expensive (~$100 for a wetsy's worth)
due to cutting charges for less than a whole roll. Plus, wallpaper sales in
general seem to be quite the scam if you check out specialty shops. If
someone were to test this stuff and find it suitable (it'll be summer before
I get to it, if then), perhaps one of the parts folks on the net would buy a
roll and sell more or less precut -to-trim pieces in a kit....
