I had a head gasket leak too that would not go away. The only way to get rid of problem was to have the mechanic put the "sealer" on the engine block (where head seats) and let it dry for about a half day. Then put on sealer and gasket on head as recommended. If you don't let sealer dry on engine block (I am told) the gasket will just squish out when cranking down head. It worked for me after two other tries. This will hold me until I get my new Subaru engine conversion :)
