The hoses are not cheap, but they are alot cheaper than blowing a hose, and frying your engine in the middle of no where with the wife and the kids in the van (been there done that). The original hoses are great but I mean your have over 14 years on them so time to replace would be now. Check out my website about the 2.1l hoses at: http://www.vanagain.com/2.1lchc.htm. Here you will see that all of the hoses for the 2.1l manual tranny Vanagon are $377. However there are alot of these hoses that are small and relatively cheap. So if you are on a budget, buy all the cheap hoses now and then save up for the four of five more expensive hoses later. That way you can start replacing your hoses and have confidence that they should be good to go for another 14 years.
