Sounds like these jerks lifted your van by placing the lift arms under the fuel tank straps, crushing your tank! Could be an expensive mistake on their part. Better get someone that really knows Vanagons to check it out, and do your further oil changes. Or learn to do your own? BTW, yes, there are only a few good brands of filters to use to extend your Vanagons life: Mahle / Knecht, Mann, and the dealer ones IF not Bosch.
