Subject: Consensus on Coolant System Behavior (Normal)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Just wanted to post that the consensus on the list about what I perceived today as abnormal coolant system behavior, is in fact, following the laws of physics, and is normal. Apparantly when I revved the engine and was staring at the gauge, this circulated more coolant through the system, which in turn cooled it more and allowed the temp to drop. Then as the engine temp rose because the engine was running hotter, the temp gradually rose again.

This makes sense when I think about it, and I guess the reason I have never noticed this before was maybe because I just wasn't paying close enough attention to the gauge (today I was staring at it unblinkingly, while normally, I am walking around the van or doing other things while waiting for the fan to cycle).

Thanks for the folks that took the time out to explain this to me, and took the time to care.
