Glenn:

Yes and no, respectively. I just sent him a check for half the total. He sent me back a receipt. Kept it as simple as possible. My 'gut' feeling said 'go for it' so I did. Most of my life has been SOP and it's gotten me this far with no major problems. But that's me. Everybody has different past experiences that require them to make their own decisions in their own way. See above. The hard part (for me) is the six week wait. I already know of three other people who have placed orders when I did (two right here in 'my' Portland [as opposed to 'that other' Portland] neighborhood).
