Engine rebuilders are the best people to ask about break in procedures, or if your rebuilding the engine yourself then contact the company that made the rings/bearings that you used.

Its a metalurgy issue and you need to look at the products that were installed.

The tech lines for the companies that make the parts will explain the break in process they recommed with their parts.
