In my quest for the 'perfect' oil cooler setup for my Westfalia turbodiesel, I had a brainstorm: The best location for the cooler is in front of the radiator, right? Since my Westy doesn't have AC, I could add an AC condenser and use it as an oil cooler. Anyone have experience or know of someone who has done this? Negatives? Think it will work OK? The other option, that I am ready to pursue, is to mount the Mazda RX-7 cooler that I have, behind the engine where the muffler used to reside. (No muffler there now) I'm not totally sure that is a good location as far as airflow. Your thoughts? Thanks! Karl Mullendore Westy Ventures 1987 Westfalia Syncro TD 'Otto' 1988 Audi 80 Quattro |
