Heya, Tomorrow morning I'm tackling the rear drums on my 80 Westy. I've got: new shoes, new drums, and new wheel cylinders. All parts are brand new. :) A few questions, though, for the experienced... 1. Must I "dip" the wheel cylinders in brake fluid before installing? 2. Do I have to remove the axle nut and remove the hub in order to press in a new lug stud? 3. Do I just pound the old (broken off end) stud back through the housing? 4. What's the story with using a lugnut to "pull the stud into place?" 5. Where's the brake fluid reservoir on an 80 Vanagon? (I can't find it :( Thanks a bunch, and I'll send a full report after tomorrow's circus, pictures included as always. Best, Chris Gkikas 80 Westy, "Guyute" http://www.geocities.com/Athens/9860/index.html |
