FYI: my shorts are still on. And I responded off the list to his post, and nevertheless appreciated the sentiment. Still, I think the following is attainable and realistic: 1986 or newer westfalia in good condition (with AC) with little rust and a well sorted out engine for less than $10,000 by April 15. Seems like this shouldn't be that big of a problem, perhaps I'm wrong. In any case, as a long term member of the Land Cruiser community, where few words are minced, I'm not the least bit thin skinned, so don't worry about me. Thanks for all the good advice. TJK
