There are two different corrosion problems with the Wasserboxer engine.
1: corrosion due to coolant wearing out and causing surface corrosion. Long Metal pipes, small metal coolant pipes , water pump impeller and other surface ares where the coolant flows. Adding other products helps here also. This is cured by changing the coolant every year or two. 2: Pressure Trapped Coolant causing corrosion. This happens when the coolant is trapped under the gasket and starts the corrosion process. Here to fix this problem simply add a coating that will bond to the surface and stay bonded under ALL the operating conditions. There are several different types of coatings avalible. Many are geared to the aircraft industry but can be used to protect the cylinder heads. While these coating keep the corrosion process from starting, they offer no protection from heat damage that happens over the life of the part. The ceramic coating provide a barrier to corrosion that is bonded to the part and also reduces heat damage.
