Folks, I've had a strange problem with St. Francis (my 1991 Vanagon) recently. My passenger-side window wouldn't roll down from the passenger-side switch. I *could* roll it down from the driver's side switch, and after doing so, the passenger could fully control it. I brought St. Francis to Royal Motors in San Francisco (not recommended!) TWICE, and they couldn't fix the problem. My boyfriend came up with a plausible theory... a stuck relay. His theory also included the corollary that the driver's switch, being closer to the relay, has a little extra current 'oomph' to get the relay unstuck. Once it's unstuck, it works fine for the passenger. Does this seem reasonable? Does anyone know which relay controls the passenger-side power window?
