I have one of these and I've used it for years. (Got turned onto it by fellow Austin Healey geeks years ago) The main problem that I have found in using it with the Vanagon is #1 - long way from the tire to the master cylinder, and #2 it tends to overfill the master cylinder if you are not careful. As to the moisture question, I have not found it to create any problems that I can attribute to it, but I suppose it could be an issue.

NOTE: #2 above caused a failure of my wheel cylinders last summer the first day out on the beginning of our 3,500 mile west coast trip. (What a way to start a trip). I was not careful enough about making sure that the master cylinder had the proper amount of fluid before wrapping up the job. (Live and learn)

I do highly recommend the unit, since it seems to provide better results than the wife pumping the brake pedal... :-)
