Subject: [Syncro] BFG All Terrain update
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;

Well, after much checking around, it appears that the BFG All Terrain tires have been discontinued in the 27 x 8.5 x 14 size. Guess it wasn't a big seller. :-)

Also, their new "KO" version of the All Terrain is NOT being offered to discounters like Costco and Tire Rack. BFG has decided to pursue a very shady strategy of creating a "suggested retail price" that must be agreed to by resellers in order for them to carry the tire. As a result Costco has discontinued selling BFG tires entirely. Usually when companies try this pricing strategy, they get slapped with lawsuits and legal action. We'll see what happens...

For now, the alternatives seem to be the Dunlop Radial Rover, or possibly the new BFG "KO" at full retail price (ugh).

Now to check the archives for comments about the Dunlops...
