Someone posted that the rear bumper chunk new is like $500 and the side pieces about half that each. I patched the wallowed out mounting holes with kevlar and glass and epoxy and wouldn't hesitate fixing a crunched bumper for the difference in the costs! Regardless of which reinforcing material you use, use a quality epoxy resin rather than that crap polyester that auto stores sell. Gougeon Bros. epoxy is awesome . They are in Bay City MI. I'm sure they have a website and a dealer near you. This stuff is the Redline GL-4 of the resin industry.
