Subject: Need your opinions: stainless exhaust opportunity
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I have the opportunity to import '86-up crossover pipes (header pipes) in stainless steel, from a well established and reputable manufacturer. Price would be almost double that of the non-stainless variety ($199 each versus $109). The muffler I already ship proportedly has a stainless steel body (excluding flanges), so this would make for an almost, but not completely, stainless setup. (The collector pipe is cast iron - and usually not a failure point- but the connecting pipe and tailpipe would still not be stainless.) This would be for '86-up 2WD only, since a Syncro uses a different front pipe (although the rear pipe would work).

Question is, should I bother? If I commit to it, how many of you will spend the extra bucks for stainless next time you need an exhaust?
