Actually, the foam egg-crate is mostly air. If you fold it and put a little
work into rolling it, it is possible to compact it down to near air mattress
size (at least the ones filled with foam).... then strap it with bungies or
stuff it into a stuff sack to keep it from opening up to full size again.
Doesn't take up so much room that way.
