I look every day. There is never anything post 1985, or hasn't been in a while anyway. Triad as well, and I have people in both areas looking for me as well. There is a 1991 in W-S that the guy wants $13,000 for, and he refuses to answer questions regarding mechanical repairs. Wants me to just come and look at it, which I'd be happy to do if he'd just answer my questions.
Try Cars.com. It lists the vehicles available through the charlotte observer and other newspapers. I don't know if the triad papers are available online. There was a supposedly rust free diesel westy for $3000 this weekend in the Charlotte Observer. (I didn't look at it.) It was a 1983 if I recall correctly.
Also try traderonline.com. There was an 89 Westy in there that look good but was pricey, around $9000 I believe. She sold it Saturday, wouldn't tell me for how much.
There are plenty of rustfree vanagons in the southeast. You won't have to fly to California and be around all those weirdo's. :) Just don't let the seller know you're foaming at the mouth for a vanagon or they will charge you West Coast prices. I'm far from foaming, just a mild gurgling I'd say. Thanks. TJK -- Todd J.
