Dealers usually mark up 30% over what they have into a vehicle, including what they bought it for and any repairs or safety required upgrades. You can usually negotiate, but for rare vehicles you don't have a lot of leverage. As far as west and east goes, western Vanagons typically have no rust, and camping is more popular, plentiful and pleasant here due to low humidity and few insects in the summer! I had never heard of the need for a side door screen until I joined this list. I don't even carry my screens, any of them!
