I just adjusted my throttle switch and the REASON it gets out of adjustment is that the PLASTIC cam on the end of the throttle shaft wears, especially on the closed position. When you look at the cam you will see that there are two lobes on it. One at the closed throttle position and one at the open throttle position. Obviously the one at the closed position gets worn the most unless you got that lead foot syndrome, which will kill your engine anyways ! This is why there are probably so many Vanagons out there with this same problem. Mileage and age of our Vans is showing !
