I have purchased a used automatic transmission for about $600 for my 85 Vanagon. Of course it will have new seals and fluids put in it before installing. Is there anything else to check or do to it to insure longer life? I am also very curious about who rebuilds these transmissions and paints them red for the transmission and blue for the torque converter (housing?). I might be lucky and have gotten one that was rebuilt correctly and now is good for 200,000....
Hopeful Mike Orbon
