Not crazy at all. We feel the same way about ours. One word of caution however, South America is absolutely the WORST place to take your pet. Biological hazards, lack of adequate doctors is especially worse for vets & pet medicine, and animals are treated VERY badly or neglected...they're EVERYWHERE. Good luck finding pet food as well (decent or not!).
