Along the lines of smog and lawnmowers, etc, when i purchased my chain saw (oooh ooohhh oohh a Stihl 029 :-) in california the muffler and carb adjustments were for California! Lucky for me, it was just another screen inthe muffler - but i left it there anyways. So the salesman said that as of 2001 or was it june 2000? all new small engines in CA must have a cat on them! WOw, imagine that, a 2000 degree F thing next to something that ignites at about 300F (your lawn). As far as chain saws (and weed whackers, etc) i'm not sure if i'd want to walk around with a saw that is that hot. i'm nervous enough about the exhaust heat as it is!

Ok, back to cats and lawnmowers :-) -Matthew 84
