After you have replaced the heater core and o-ring everyone has
mentioned, drill a couple of 1/2" drain holes through the floor
underneath the core (check under the van first for anything that might
be in the way), and paint the edges to prevent rust.  Then next time it
leaks (and it will) you won't have to yank up all the carpet!
