Just so ya know, amsoils filters are made by baldwin.

For example the filters that work on the diesel VWs is the Amsoil SDF15. This filter is actually the V2F filter from baldwin. Baldwin makes a B2 filter which is the same filter but with a conventional filter media, same quality as a Mann or Mahle for example - high pleat count.

If you email baldwin they will confirm that they make the filters for amsoil...actually so will amsoil, but they are relunctant to explain this since it means they are pretty much giving you the information to buy the same filter at 1/2 the price!

The V2F is $7.2 canadian and the SDF15 is $16.25 canadian.

The larger diesel filters fit on the gas engines and like using diesel oil in a gas engine, using the diesel filters is also a good idea. Larger filter volume, goes well with people doing extended drain times with synthetics.

I am using the V2F on my diesel.

The B2 filters to 20-40 microns. The V2F filters from 5 microns and up. It does this because its not a screen type filter, like normal filters. Its a depth filter. Its not the hard paper material that normal filters have, which act like a screen. Its layers of cottom, cellulose and fiberglass. The different layers trap different size particles, but still allow the same oil flow. By trapping different sized particles at different levels its acting like a depth filter.
